Look around your house or apartment right now. Does it look tired, old, dated? Or are you just sick of the sight of that candleholder you've had since college? Luckily, one of the easiest ways to remake your space for fall is through accessories ... those accent pieces that add personality to your home, just like a cute scarf or cool ring does for your outfit.

New home accessories are fun to shop for because you can find that perfect piece for you at all price points, no matter what your style. Here are five looks to watch for:

    1) Floor poufs. These tiny little seats, kind of like footstools but fancier, are all over the place this fall. Spring may be synonymous with doing a big cleaning of the house, but it seems like fall is always time for fixing up the place. Maybe it's just because the busy, busy, busy of summer keeps us from noticing all that's going wrong around the house? Or maybe it's because the temperature's dipping and suddenly I'm looking for ways to hold on to that warm, sunny atmosphere that flooded in naturally straight through August.

And even those of us who don't have a DIY bone in our bodies could use a little sunshine on a cloudy day. So let's take a look at some of the fast fixes for fall:

One major trend this upcoming fall season appears to have been directly inspired by Kate Middleton.

I'm talking about the large number of fascinator-style headbands and hair wraps that are popping up in stores for the fall season.

Kate, as most of you know, has worn a fistful of feathers on her head to more than one recent royal appearance.

I'm not sure I'll personally take on this trend -- it seems more suited for girls in their early to mid-20s -- but I can't ignore it altogether.

Nordstrom featured these feather headbands in its fall catalog.

To find out where to get the look for yourself, read on, and check out a few great options.

Now that designers are beginning to roll out their fall/winter collections, it's a good time to take a look at the trends and start thinking about what you want your wardrobe to look like this upcoming season.

Neiman Marcus just unveiled its Gucci collection and the looks give a good idea of what will be hot in the coming months.

This rust color, for example, is going to be big, along with its color companion, red.

Sure you may not be able to afford this particular $1795 dress, but keep the look in mind when you go shopping for more affordable gear.

Check out this LBD to the left, for example- a wardrobe staple in most women's closets.

This season, wear yours with graduated glam necklaces, an updo and black platform heels and you'll be totally on-trend.
