Sweet Video Shows Marine's Son Breaking Down During Stepmom's Wedding Vows
Blended families can be tricky terrain for step-parents. They require love, patience, and hard work to create a loving bond between step-parent and stepchild. Which is why it's incredibly heartwarming to watch this marine's 4-year-old son, Gage, break down in tears during his new stepmom's wedding vows.
When airman Emily Leehan and marine Joshua Newville wed on Saturday, July 22, they were surprised when Gage started to get emotional.
"The emotions were so high during the ceremony," their wedding photographer, Jessica Husted, tells CafeMom. "Seriously, not a dry eye. It was one of the most moving things I've ever had the honor to capture and witness."
When Emily started reciting special vows she'd prepared just for her new stepson, the little boy broke down crying.
As Husted explained to CafeMom, "Emily asked for Gage, and he stood literally right in front of her while she read to him and she wasn't very far into reading before he was so sweetly overcome with emotions."

In her speech, Emily tells Gage, "I want you to be safe, and to try your hardest, and to be a good person."
"Don't cry," Emily can be heard saying in the video as Gage bursts into tears.
Gage wraps his arms around his new stepmom, as she tells him, "I may not have given you the gift of life, but life has given me the gift of you."
Emily tells CafeMom, "As nervous as I was, I tried to contain my emotions to make it a little easier for him."
But, as their gorgeous wedding photos and video prove, Emily ultimately got choked up as well.

Emily tells CafeMom, "We didn't plan for things to spread this quickly, but now that it has we hope that everyone can take away something positive from the videos."
