7-Year-Old Donates His Piggy Bank to Local Mosque & Gets a Sweet Surprise in Return

Boy and Muslim man

Like many kids, 7-year old-Jack Swanson has a piggy bank that he's been trying to fill. His goal was an iPad of his very own. He was up to about $20 worth of coins -- earned from doing chores -- when he decided to use his money for something else: To make a donation to a local mosque that had recently been vandalized.

Jack's kind actions were prompted by an ugly incident at the Islamic Center of Pflugerville, Texas, in which someone left torn-out pages of the Koran covered in feces at the doorway to the mosque.

They are not Muslim, but both Jack and his mother (who live in the mosque's neighborhood) were upset by the act. They wanted to show that they support the center and that they believe that all places of worship are important. Jack's sweet gesture happened to be caught on camera and is powerful demonstration of neighbor helping neighbor:

Jack's donation is by itself already a happy ending to this story, but there's more. After hearing about his kindness, a group of American Muslims decided that Jack should get the iPad he's been saving for after all. Check out the sweet Facebook post below of one happy kid getting a very special piece of mail!
