High School Boy Gives a Valentine to Every Girl in School (Over 1,000!) Anonymously

valentine surprise high school

Valentine's Day can be tough for kids in high school. High school is hard enough as it is -- throw in a "holiday" about love and the self-esteem issues rise. But one anonymous boy at Edmond Memorial High School in Oklahoma did something incredible. He surprised all 1,076 girls by giving them each a Valentine complete with some candy.

That's right -- every single girl at Edmond High received a card that read "Remember there will always be people who care about you and I will always be one of them! Love, anonymous." Each card had a lollipop attached. Student Laura Pitcock said, "All the girls were surprised this morning." This act of kindness certainly brought feelings of love and a whole lot of smiles to the school. See? High school isn't all bullying and gossip and competition.

The sweetheart behind the Valentines didn't stay anonymous for long. Word got out that Eagle Scout Dan Williams sent out the sweet gestures and candy to all the ladies. He wants to make sure everyone knows that he wasn't trying to steal anyone's girlfriend. He was just making sure that all the girls knew that someone cares about them. This gesture is what we need more of in this world. I'm so impressed with this kid. Dan said:

To know that someone cares about them, that’s the best feeling in the world I think.

He's right. All you need is love.

Watching the video, I noticed how Dan is so modest, he seems a little shy, and is such a gentleman. He had been planning this Valentine for a while -- he started saving money over the summer to fund his gesture. I'm so happy that kids like him exist. There is a lot of love in this world, and it's instances like this that deserve to be recognized. Spread the love, people. Happy Valentine's Day.

What do you think of Dan's gesture? What act of kindness have you experienced lately?
