Woman Who Drove Into a Lake While Texting Should Get Her License Revoked for Good (PHOTO)

car in lakeIf you want to know what texting and driving looks like, please shift your gaze to the left. That right there is the result of a woman LOLing or OMGing while she should have been L-O-O-K-I-N-G at the road. An unidentified 25-year-old admit that texting was the cause of her veering off the road and hitting and tree, which subsequently propelled her car about 60-feet into a nearby lake. Thankfully, everyone is okay -- she was able to open her window and escape -- but wouldn't you say it's time texting and driving repercussions are treated the same as DUIs?

I really don't know what's going to deter this god-awful phenomenon from continuing to happen beyond serious punishment. Texting and driving has proven to be more dangerous than driving drunk -- why does it continue to happen? I'm glad this woman (and everyone else) is okay, but this lady ought to have been arrested and put in jail after she was treated for her minor injuries. This is not something someone should be able to walk away from with a slap on the wrist. In some states, something like this would be a mere fine and a few points on the license. No. That will do nothing. That punishment is equivalent to speeding.

Plain and simple, people: Don't text and drive. If you don't think you can restrain yourself, put your phone in the trunk or lock it in the glove box. No communication is worth your life. Or your reputation if you drive your car into a lake.

Do you text and drive?
