10 Ways Your iPhone Can Get You Breastfeeding Help Fast

I have personally breastfed exactly zero babies, but I've heard the experience can be easy, hard, painful, wonderful, rewarding, frustrating, totally awful, and totally the most amazing thing ever. In other words, there's no one-size-fits-all approach to breastfeeding -- for some it's a breeze from the very first day. For others, not so much.

Luckily for those who are in need of a little support, there are a multitude of breastfeeding resources at your fingertips these days. Even if you've only got one hand free to tap at a smartphone because the other is holding a baby, you've got access to all sorts of advice, information, assistance, and plenty of shoulders to cry if necessary.

Check out this list of 10 amazing websites, apps, Facebook pages, podcasts, videos and more to help you succeed with breastfeeding:

La Leche League. Probably the most comprehensive collection of breastfeeding resources online, with a Facebook presence, answer pages, forums, the ability to connect with local LLL groups and leaders, podcasts, and more.
KellyMom. KellyMom's stated goal is to provide "support & evidence-based information on breastfeeding, sleep and parenting," and there's an enormous amount of information available here, including support groups and a Twitter account.

Eat Sleep app. A free iOS app for easily tracking your baby’s eating, sleeping, and diaper habits. Best of all, "All the important stuff can be entered with a one-finger tap."

@BreastfeedingM on Twitter. Breastfeeding Magazine has an active Twitter account that shares several article links per day.

Dispelling Breastfeeding Myths. This Facebook page is a breastfeeding support group which also "campaigns against misinformation and discrimination." Lots of user-submitted questions that anyone can answer in the comments.

Helplines. LLL has a toll-free helpline service at 877 4 LA LECHE (1-877-452-5324), and the US Office on Women’s Health staffs both English and Spanish speaking peer counselors at 800-994-9662 (TDD 888-220-5446).

Breastfeeding Babies YouTube channel. With videos that cover everything from establishing a good latch to breastfeeding toddlers, this channel aims to provide "info and 'Best Practice' on helping your baby to breastfeed effectively as we can."

Dr. Anne's Breastfeeding Medicine Podcast. Click to play free audio files that cover donor milk banking, diagnosing tongue-tie, encouraging milk supply, and tons more.

Baby Tracker: Nursing app. This iOS app costs $4.99, but is designed specifically for breastfeeding moms. Record details about each nursing session, including length of time, which side, and more. One reviewer's comment: "Used for the 14 months I nursed my first baby, and I couldn't have done it without this app. I tried others, and this one was by far the best. Can't wait for next baby so I can continue to use. Thank god there's an app for that!"
