Lolo Jones' Crack at Quadriplegic Man Only Got More Offensive With Her Apology

Lolo JonesAfter Lolo Jones sent an offensive tweet to a quadriplegic man after he challenged her to a race, you'd think she'd have fallen to her knees out of pure humiliation and immediately issued a heartfelt apology -- but her response didn't even come close to making up for her blatant rudeness.

Ok, before I go on, here's what went down on Twitter yesterday. Eric LeGrand decided to have a little bit of fun with the Olympic athlete, so he sent her a tweet (as a joke) challenging her to a foot race.

And here was Lolo's eloquent reply to his request: "Get Checked for a concussion. Clearly, u’ve been hit in the head... Cos u arnt beating a track athlete." (Wow. She can run, but she definitely can't spell.)

And I'm sure you can guess what happened next -- Twitter exploded with people informing her that Eric LeGrand is a quadriplegic who has been in a wheelchair since being paralyzed at Rutgers University in 2010.

Of course, no one assumed that Lolo knew Eric is in a wheelchair, so plenty of people were prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt.

But after hearing how she responded to the news after learning about her mistake, she actually came off as even more offensive, and proved that she has one of the most massive egos in professional sports.

Here's what she posted. Again, just ignore her lack of basic grammar and spelling rules.

No, dnt know. Sry dont know every football player. He challenged me 2 a race & I responded. Great I’m gonna get murdered for that tweet. When I had no clue who that dude was. Just responding to any athlete who challenges me to a race.

Wow. Instead of being completely mortified that she basically poked fun at a quadriplegic, she was more worried about the attacks she would receive from other people. And then she went so far as to try and justify her comment instead of showing any shred of remorse! I'm sorry -- I know she's accomplished a lot in her life, but who in the hell does this woman think she is?

Eric LeGrand, on the other hand, couldn't have been more gracious to Lolo. He sent her the following message via Twitter to ease her mind a bit:

"Didnt take it personal, understand where ur coming from. All good."

And what did she come back with?

"Thx. Getting trashed by tons of ppl glad ur not one of em."

Um -- that's it? No apology? No, "I made a huge mistake and from now on I'll do my research before I tweet"? No, "I feel like such an idiot and you are so gracious for forgiving me"?

I've never been a big fan of the Olympics, but if I ever do tune in for the games in the future, I definitely won't be rooting for Lolo Jones.

Shame on her for turning an opportunity to make things right into nothing but a huge pity party on her behalf.

Do you think Eric LeGrand deserved an apology from Lolo Jones?
