Super Tall Woman Basketball Player Makes Amazing Monster Dunk (VIDEO)

Brittney Griner dunkI'll be the first to admit: I'm not the biggest fan of women's basketball. But when headlines came out celebrating Brittney Griner's dunk, helping propel top-seeded Baylor to a 76-57 win over #9 Florida, I had to find out more. I had no idea that a woman dunking in an NCAA game was a big deal.

But apparently it is! Griner, who's 6'8"(!), was only the second woman in NCAA tournament game history to make a dunk. And as her coach Kim Mulkey said, "That wasn't just a barely-over-the-rim type of dunk. That was a monster dunk."

Whoa. Sounds pretty badass to me. I'm sure you, like me, want to see this one for yourself!

Take a look at said monster dunk:

Seriously, that was pretty incredible for any woman to pull off. But my mind is still blown that this is only the second dunk in NCAA women's tournament history. I guess I just assumed, since Griner is 6'8", she'd be dunking all the time. Honestly, it looks like she could be doing that in her sleep! Perhaps if there were more awesome plays like this onein women's basketball, more people would tune in?

Besides, we all know nothing gets an audience cheering like a monster dunk. You've gotta wonder if this has anything to do with the reason why a majority of us prefer watching men's basketball over women's. Exciting plays like this certainly help! Still, you can't take away the fact that Griner pulled off one amazing play, and she seems like a humble athlete to boot. Hopefully she'll help get more basketball fans tuning in to her next game!

Do you think it's crazy that this is only the second dunk in a women's NCAA tournament game?
