10 Most Heartbreaking Twitter Tributes to Whitney Houston

Whitney HoustonThe world was shocked this weekend when Whitney Houston, music legend, was found dead at a hotel in Beverly Hills. Yeah, her lifestyle in recent years has left something to be desired, but still -- it was Whitney. She was an icon. I dare you to find a female over the age of 25 -- musically-inclined or not -- who hasn't shut her bedroom door, picked up a brush, and lip synced to one of her songs. It was sort of a rite of passage back then.

Sort of like how reacting to a celebrity death over Twitter is a rite of passage now. Tons of singers, actresses, and reality stars posted messages about Whitney's death to the social networking site over the weekend. Of course. All the tweets were sad, but here are the 10 most heartbreaking of all.

Lady Gaga: "When I wrote 'Born This Way' I imagined Whitney singing it because I wasn't secure enough to be a star."

Kelly Rowland: "I am beyond heartbroken. Whitney Houston was undoubtedly one of the greatest singers & performers of all time & such a huge influence on me."

Alicia Keys: "I feel sick.... Life is precious, we are fragile souls. Let's love each other! I miss you beautiful Whitney, the whole world misses you!!"
