Dallas Mavericks Coach Has a Khloe Kardashian Crush That Will Make You Cringe

As any loyal Kardashian follower is now well-aware, the Khloe contingent of the brood is currently packing their bags and saying "see ya" to L.A. for the time-being. Lamar Odom has been traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks, and it's with a heavy heart but seemingly positive perspective that wife Khloe Kardashian is headin' to the Heart of Texas to stand by her man. Being that the Kardashians are basically the Reality Family of 2011 (sorry, Duggars), everyone seems to have an opinion on this, including Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle.

He told the Dallas Morning News, "Khloe's my favorite Kardashian. She's the coolest." OMG. Squee! Does or doesn't this man sound like a tween who has her room wallpapered in BOP posters of her favorite reality show star??

He went on to address the reporter's (obnoxious) question about if he'd appear on the E! show, saying, "I've never been one to rule anything out. I would guess it would be a long shot to be asked." Noooo, Carlisle! Way to sound like a starstruck tool!!

I know it's not every day that Dallas gets mind-numbingly brilliant Tinseltown talent stomping around town, and who knows the last time they were graced with the presence of Kardashian royalty, but this is beyond embarrassing. Why should the coach of a legit, solid NBA team be psyched or even remotely interested in his new player's wife's TV show? Doesn't he have bigger fish to fry than trying to kiss up to Khloe and considering whether or not he'd end up making a guest appearance on her show? Maybe the guy really isn't the fan boy he sounds like in these quotes, and he was just trying to be nice about the reporter's question. And if that was the case, shame on that sports reporter for asking a pro-basketball coach something so painfully glib!

No offense to Khloe, but any convo with the NBA should be about Lamar. What these two should have been discussing is Odom's transition to and success on the Mavs. The reporter should have been asking about that, and if he had to "go there" with these lame-o celeb-worship-y Qs, Carlisle shoulda had the media training to bring the convo back to his new player. Because what he ended up doing -- gushing and getting all googly-eyed over Khloe instead -- was just plain cringe-worthy.

Do you think Carlisle could stand to focus more on the game and his new player than his possible appearance on an upcoming episode of Khloe & Lamar?
