NFL Player Doesn't Deserve Flak for Porn Star Photo Op

rob gronkowski pats jerseyTiger Woods will never be able to live down his "sex addiction" that led him to bed hordes of women. Michael Vick will always have to deal with the dog fighting crimes he committed. But now all eyes are on New England Patriots' tight-end Rob Gronkowski ... for posing without his shirt (gasp!) in a photo with an adult film star BiBi Jones (double gasp!), who was wearing his jersey. Yes, apparently, this is a BIG SCANDAL.

When the pic was posted on Jones' Twitter account, poor Gronkowski had to meet with the Pats' owner, and also made an official statement about the whole ordeal: "I didn't intend anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of Robert Kraft ... It was just a simple picture, and that's all." And if you had any suspicion that there might have been some "foul play" going on behind the camera, quit your fantasizing!

BiBi went on Boston radio earlier this week and explained what went down:

Nothing happened. I wish something had, but nothing happened ... I asked if I could have some pictures with him and he said, "Yeah, wait, put on my jersey." I said, "OK." We were taking pictures. I asked him if I could put it on Twitter because some athletes wouldn't want that since I do do adult films, and they don't want to be associated with that. He was really cool with it because I have more Twitter followers than him.

Oh, dear. And this is what everyone's all up in arms about? So a pro-athlete and a porn star took a photo together and chatted for a few minutes. Woopdeedoo! Sounds like a whole lot of brouhaha about nothing, especially when compared to the kinds of shenanigans that tons of pro-athletes probably engage in every day (hello, hookers, drugs, adultery, etc.). Not that we should just expect that kind of behavior from them, but that's how it is. We shouldn't expect football players to act like altar boys. All I'm saying is ... in comparison to many of his colleagues' actions, it's a joke to think what Gronkowski did could possibly "damage" the Pats' reputation. Anyone fretting about this really needs to get a life.

What do you think about Gronkowski's "photo op"?
