Hope Solo Has a Secret Weapon for 'Dancing With the Stars'

hope solo dancing with the starsWhen she makes her debut on tonight's season premiere of Dancing With the Stars, Hope Solo will already be ahead of the game. And not in that annoying way that some contestants who were once actually dancing-and-singing pop stars (I'm looking at you former NKOTB, 98 Degrees, and N'Sync boy band members!) do. Nope, the World Cup contending soccer star has a better shot at DWTS gold because she's an athlete -- in every sense of the word.

When it comes to dancing, Hope's experience classifies her at the lowest level; amateur seems like an understatement. Teammate Lauren Cheney recently spilled, "[Hope] never dances, not even in the locker room. I'm the one that's always dancing."

But who cares?! That's not what really matters on DWTS. We just want to see a contestant prove they're a quick study, and if they can transform themselves from clueless to top-of-the-class act, that's the best case scenario! Hope has a secret weapon when it comes to being able to accomplish that.

As it turns out, she's basically treating her DWTS preparation as she would any other competition. Apparently, instead of calling it "rehearsing," she says she's "training." She also says anything worth doing is worth winning, so you KNOW she has her eye on that shiny disco ball prize.

She recently said:

Everything I do, I do to the best of my ability, and at the end of the day, it's competition. Yeah, it's dancing, and it's not my cup of tea, but I'm very intense and pretty passionate about wanting to do the best I can.

Yow! This woman is NOT kidding around! This attitude of hers -- which has certainly taken her this far in her soccer career -- is going to be an incredible asset to her as she competes on this season of DWTS. She's clearly super-devoted and planning to give every number -- just like every goal -- at least 110 percent. Sounds like the makings of a winner to me.

Are you looking forward to watching Hope on DWTS?
