Surprise! We’re Getting Bored With Facebook and Twitter

boredKids these days. Aren't they the nuttiest with all their LOLing and OMGing and WTFing? They're like miniature aliens walking around in skinny jeans, texting 'til their thumbs all but fall off, and generally not giving an eff. I just can't relate to those little rascals on anything. Save for one thing.

A new "study" (I always feel the need to put trivial research like this in quotes) found that one in four young people is "bored" with social media.

Kids, I'm so totally with you on this one. OMG, LOL, WTF, ROFL, lLKJLGUREOIUGER!

Dudes, I kind of feel like Facebook and Twitter and everything in between have sort of peaked, you know? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not planning on quitting them or anything, but they're just not doing it for me anymore. The same people update the same boring things every g.d. day. It sucks.

I typically log on to Facebook twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. By the time I get home at night, there should be at least one interesting thing on there. And you know what? There never is! No one's gotten engaged, and nobody posted drunken photos. I don't even know why I log on anymore.

Of course, every now and again, you get those gems -- you know the ones I'm talking about. That guy you used to date posting a slew of vacation photos, or that awesome lady you have a girl crush on adding pictures of herself on an amazing night out on the town. That is when Facebook is, like, the greatest invention ever. But for those in between times, man, people really need to shake things up.

Perhaps I shouldn't be one to complain, though, as I'm not really one to post much myself. In fact, I bet a lot of my "friends" forgot that I even exist. I don't know, I guess after writing to you guys all day, I just don't have anything interesting left to say.

At least that's my excuse. What's theirs?

Are you getting bored with social media?
