Wes Welker Puts His Foot in His Mouth -- 10 Times (VIDEO)

Wes Welker, the wide receiver for the New England Patriots, would normally "toe" the line. He would not try to upset his opposing team in a press conference just before the big game this Sunday when his team footses faces off against the New York Jets in the divisional playoffs, right?

Oh, who am I kidding? He toe-tally would!

"These are the games you play for. What you spend all year getting ready for and you just want to put your best foot forward," Welker said with a straight face during his media session yesterday.

And just so we all got the point, Welker included close to a dozen "foot" references during the same media session. It seems like it was an attempt to razz the New York Jets (more specifically, to razz Jets Coach Rex Ryan and his infamous foot fetish) and get a foothold on the Super Bowl.

See the video below:

We all know, thanks to the Internet, that Ryan and his wife have a foot fetish that they indulge together. And even though I am from New England and would support the Patriots whole footedly heartedly if I cared about FOOTball (which I don't), I still think this is just a rude display.

After all, why should we get all up in feet arms over a little video? We need to come together now, before the big game. We can all be magnanimous and agree about one thing -- Michelle Ryan has hot feet. Am I right?

No, really. Let's tread lightly and behave ourselves like gentlemen (and women). After all, if the shoe were on the other foot, we wouldn't want to be treated this way. None of us wants to suffer the agony of defeet defeat on Sunday, so let's behave not like arch rivals, but like the truly decent people we all are.

Something truly sad is afoot when we can't all come together before the big game. Let's all shake hands, bump fists, and pat each other's rears without stepping anyone's toes. OK?

We have one sole reason for caring. We all loveth the foot (and the ball), so let's agree to behave, not like heels, but like real adults and start this game on the right foot.

Do you think the foot jokes were intentional?
