Human beings have been making wine for thousands of years. And yet, it is only recently that we have created the most crucial component of wines: Manicures.

Yes, wine lovers, now you can pair a nail polish color to your Pinot Grigio. Wine company Santa Margherita has created a line of nail colors inspired by wines. And they're throwing manicure/wine tasting parties, too! So are you getting the vision here? You and your friends, getting your nails done, drinking wine... Oh, is that your typical Thursday night? Well now it's officially a thing.

So: Manicure and wine parties, brilliant idea or recipe for disaster, what do you think?

As someone who shops at Whole Foods, gets huffy when her fiance doesn't recycle properly, and opts for chemical-free, organic everything when possible, it just occurred to me -- three months into planning our wedding and after booking our venue -- that our wedding should be as green as possible. Call me crazy, but it kinda kills me to think of serving tons of food that will go to waste, or serving fish that was shipped from way overseas, creating a nasty carbon footprint, when there's perfectly lovely local fish nearby.

Thankfully, there are plenty of easy ways to "green up" a wedding. Here, six simple tricks that won't necessarily cost an arm and a leg -- and might even save you money!

I like a good glass of wine as much as the next harried mom, but given our thinly spread budget, my go-to wines usually come with a screw top or out of the box. Hey, don’t knock it; boxed wine has come a long way over the years! Or at least that’s how I rationalize it.

On special occasions, we’ll sometimes splurge $40 to $50 for a nice Cabernet or Zinfandel, and yes, the improvement in taste is remarkable. But still, that’s a splurge that isn’t possible in our everyday lives, so with the cheap stuff I will stick. Since it’s not often I get the opportunity to indulge in fancy wine, I’ll ask for advice before I buy. After all, I want to make sure I’m getting the best bang for my buck.

Drew Barrymore may have yet to confirm rumors that she's pregnant with her first baby (with fiance Will Kopelman) sometime soon, but she has given birth to something completely different that sounds delightful ... and intoxicating! The star has come out with her own wine!

Barrymore 2011 Pinot Grigio is already available in Cali (obviously -- those spoiled winos!), but it's coming to New York next month (yay!). And beyond the fact that it has Drew's name on it, it sounds like the bottle is totally worth the hype. Get this: It won a gold medal earlier this month at France's biggest international wine competition. YUM! And I was psyched to try it based strictly on the fact that Barrymore had a hand in creating it!

I know, I know -- how totally lame. But, come on, the celebs still deserve the benefit of the doubt when it comes to getting their feet wet in the wine biz. Don't hate just cause their day job is in Hollywood!

Chocolate and wine: Two of my most favorite things in the world. They even taste great together. How do I love them, let me count the ways. No! We do not have time for that. Instead, I will have to cut to the chase. Someone has gone and combined these two wonderful gifts from the gods together into one beverage. ChocoVine.

It's wine mixed up with Dutch cocoa, sugar, and a brew of other ingredients. And the good people at ChocoVine sent some over so we could have ourselves a little taste test at The Stir. Here's what we thought.

Get ready for the most amazingly delicious dose of antioxidants ever. No, really -- it's true! Look, everybody's known for years that red wine is good for you (in moderation, but whatever) and now everybody knows chocolate is super good for you, too (in moderation, but whatever).

So clearly this Red Wine Chocolate Cake with Whipped Mascarpone could be considered health food. This is a dessert one should eat for medicinal purposes, naturally. Not because it tastes like sin in pastry form. That's just an added plus!

There's seriously nothing I love more than opening a delicious bottle of wine at the end of a long, stressful week. Let's be real though, I'm no wine snob. I'm good for a cheap $12 bottle of merlot all day 'err day. In other words, I mix things up when I buy my cheap wine simply by the way that the label looks.

Super colorful label? Done. Cool name in even cooler cursive? SOLD! Which is exactly why I'm the lame-o that would pick something up from TXT Cellars. With names ranging from OMG!!! (exclamation points included) Chardonnay to GR8!!! Cabernet Sauvignon, it was only a matter of time until someone went down this drunken route with vino.

Heck, I have a few acronyms of my own that could be PERFECT for wine names. Starting with HSID!!!! (Read: Holy shit, I'm drunk.)

Bethenny Frankel declared on the premiere of the third season of her reality show, Bethenny Ever After, that she finally feels comfortable saying that her company, Skinnygirl, is now a brand with a capital B. And if that new apartment is any indication, she ain't lyin'. Damn that place was huge. I hope she hosts a roller-derby party inside there sometime in the future. Anyway, speaking of her ever-expanding empire, Bethenny's come out with a new Skinnygirl product that should make fans of hers, and fans of cheap booze, very happy.

Starting in April, stores will be carrying Skinnygirl wine that comes in red, white, and blush. (If you ask me, it should be named Skinnygirl whine because that's all Bethenny seems to do now these days -- zing -- but no one consulted me.) And its claim to fame? It's 100 calories a glass.
