"Welcome to Delta Airlines. This is your captain speaking. We're expecting a little turbulence on this flight, and oh by the way, there are needles in those turkey sandwiches. Enjoy the flight!" Needles in turkey sandwiches. It happened -- and not just on one Delta flight. It happened on FOUR Delta flights. In all, five sandwiches have been found with what appear to be sewing needles inside them. Only one person has been injured, thank goodness.

No one knows how those needles got in there, either. Lord knows needles are the last thing any airline would purposefully put in a sandwich. Sad, flavorless tomatoes, maybe, but never needles. So how did they get there? The FBI is investigating.

I get a lot of grief for my dining out ordering style. At Chipotle, it goes a little something like this: "Just a little brown rice ... extra lettuce ... could I get a little more chicken? Sour cream on the side." So, okay, I admit -- I can be a bit of a Sally Albright (you know, from When Harry Met Sally), but that's only because I'm trying to be healthy. And now I know I am really not that crazy, because there are people out there who are even more particular than I am ... So much more!

Take this totally insane story out of East HartfordConnecticut. A man named Rother McLennon called 911 -- because his deli sandwich order didn't meet his specifications!

Packing school lunches is probably not up there on any mom's favorite list of tasks, but bringing lunch from home (theirs and yours!) is healthier, cheaper, and can even be the green choice if you do it the right way.

The average school-age child will throw out 67 pounds of trash over the course of a year just from lunch alone. That is a lot of landfill. But there's a greener way. Check out the latest episode of Mom-Ed:Green Living (and our tips) after the jump so you can go from tons of waste to no waste with a few simple changes.

Oh office lunch. Why aren't you more delicious? I try to bring my lunch to work every day. That's because buying lunch in Midtown Manhattan can run you around 10 dollars. I did the math on what that would cost me per month and then I had my memory erased because the number was so horrific. (No, not really, but it's way too much.)

So what to pack for lunch that's not boring? I'll often just pack leftovers from dinner, but on days when there are no leftovers, I draw a blank. And a blank mind first thing in the morning is not going to get you fed a lunchtime. That's why I came up with this handy list of packed lunch ideas.

The name of McDonald's newest sandwich sounds like a joke -- The McRibster. The ingredients would be even more laughable ... if they weren't so horrifying.

It's like the cult classic McRib, but more in every way. No mere pressed pork made to resemble a rib cage, the McRibster raises the bar by adding cheese, bacon (mmm, pork on pork!), and -- if you can believe it -- even more. The official description from Burger Business describes it as containing the following: "“juicy pork, bacon, pepper-Jack cheese, and crunchy iceberg lettuce, red onion, delicious honey-mustard sauce and spicy sweet chili sauce.”

And oh yeah, that pork is juicy because it's breaded and deep-fried. I can hear the sound arteries clogging and waistbands expanding now.

Oh lord. Someone at Marsh Grammar School in Methuen, Massachusetts should be in big trouble after putting KKK Chicken Tenders on the school lunch menu. But not just for the obvious reasons -- which are REALLY obvious to anyone with a fourth grade education.

Needless to say, when children brought home the lunch menu, parents were scared to send the little ones to school the next day for fear of finding some racist, violent chicken tenders on their lunch tray.

Even though the intention behind the KKK tenders was not to actually promote discrimination, murder, and hatred, saddling a menu item with KKK was still incredibly stupid.
