You know how certain meals pair well with particular adult beverages? Filet mignon with a nice Bordeaux, for example. Chicken tetrazzini with a Chianti, perhaps. Burgers and brew. Whatever you ate out of cans in college and wine coolers. Anyway. Guess what? Certain TV shows pair well with particular adult beverages, too. Obviously. Just ask the folks from the Ommegang Brewery, who just came out with a new beer inspired by Game of Thrones called Iron Throne Blonde Ale. Winter is coming ... gotta stay warm!

So it makes total sense that a brewery finally figured out an old-style, puts hair on your chest ale would appeal to Game of Thrones fans. But we want to know what's taking all the other wineries and distilleries so long? ? Imagine how much fun it would be to get tipsy while you watched the tube if all of your favorite small-screen hits had their own designated drink! Here are a few of our fantasy pairings:

I have to admit, it was a long time before I learned to love eggnog. As a kid, I found the holiday classic to be completely confusing: Why didn't it taste like a vanilla milkshake? It looked like a vanilla milkshake, kind of. Why didn't the brown powder on top taste like chocolate? And so on.

But now that I've developed a taste for nutmeg and appreciate the value of a good winter cocktail, I feel very differently about eggnog. My philosophy? If you're gonna do it, don't do it halfway -- that's why I love Paula Deen's recipe for Mama's Eggnog. Yes, Paula Deen! And no, there isn't any butter in this nog (but there is bourbon, which is better). Cheers!

It's now officially holiday season, and you know what that means? Holiday cocktails! Time to par-tay! Oh yeah. For some of us, the time between Thanksgiving and New Years is practically an alcohol tsunami, with toasting and celebrations happening all the time.

And that's just fine with me. But I'm pausing here for a moment to review my booze rules. These are the little rules I have about drinking. Because I grew up in a teetotaler home I've had to figure a lot of this stuff out on my own. I learned the hard way that I don't have to eagerly accept every single time someone offers me a drink. Here's when I say no, and when I say go.

The holidays can be quite a drag. There's all that shopping, spending, eating, and sooo much anticipation about what's waiting for you under the Christmas tree. I'm always sick with worry over whether or not I got my mom the right size, if my sister will like the sweater I knit her, or -- for heaven's sake! -- will my brother appreciate the socks I bought him?! So in my house, the holidays are just another excuse to drink -- and I'll bet it's the same in your house, too.

But we're not talking any ole drink are we, folks? Nope. Since we're all decked out head to toe in our finest festive frocks, this season is all about toasting to health, wealth, happiness, and strong spirited cocktails. So if you're wondering what to whip up for your guests (or hell, for yourself), look no further than these six best holiday cocktails that'll ensure your holiday is holly, jolly, and bright!

Ohhh -- Thanksgiving. How we love you! And how we love the alcohol that is hopefully available -- and flowing quite nicely -- on this family-filled day.

From the food and fun to the crazy family and inevitable fights, Thanksgiving above all makes us thankful for alcohol. I'm just kidding (mostly), but it is a nice day to have some libations on hand to put a little pep in your party and help you cope with crazy cousin Joe.

Sure, wine is fine, but Thanksgiving is also a great time to come up with a themed drink or two to offer guests. Here are six great ones that will complement any Thanksgiving meal, starting with this amazing, rich, and delicious pumpkin martini from Food.com.

If you ever find yourself in Times Square, please, for the love of all things, do NOT eat at Guy Fieri's new restaurant, Guy's American Kitchen & Bar. According to The New York Times, it just might be the worst restaurant in America. And reviewer Pete Wells' review just might be the best restaurant review ever written.

So, if you've got a free moment in your busy day, if the kids have gone down for a nap for a minute, treat yourself to some of this comic genius and check out the review. It's so good, I sincerely wish I'd written it myself. Why's it so great?

It looks like not everything that was washed away by Hurricane Sandy wound up leaving a trail of tears. For these guys in Brooklyn's Gerritsen Beach, the storm may have washed out their power, but it washed in a fully-stocked bar.

The bar floated two miles from its original home at a Flatbush Avenue marina in Brooklyn to land in its new neighborhood, with its tables, chairs, and liquor in tact. Residents of Gerritsen Beach dubbed it "Sandy's Bar," and threw a party. It was a little ray of sunshine on an otherwise terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day.

Want to party like a Real Housewife this Halloween? RHONJ Melissa Gorga has got you covered with her favorite "skinny" Halloween cocktails. And she must have come up with these recipes long before Superstorm Sandy hit, because poor New Jersey must have gotten the worst of that storm. Look what happened to the Gorga house!

But back to the Halloween cocktails, Melissa came up with some fun mixers using Voli Light Vodka -- and each one has just around 100 calories. Why Melissa, however did you make that possible?
