This week klumpp wrote in asking about ideas for kid-friendly Thanksgiving treats. I found this cute recipe for Turkey Cookie Treats on the Betty Crocker site. Won't these look tur-rific on the kid's table? You can "wing it" using ready bake cookie dough, chocolate frosting, and candy corn. Or, keep reading for the recipe.
Turkey Cookie Treats from Betty Crocker
1 pouch Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1 container chocolate frosting
candy corn
yellow decorating icing
black decorating icing
sprinkles for decorating
Stir mix, butter, and egg until soft dough forms. On ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart. Bake 11 to 14 minutes at 375 or until edges are light golden brown. Cool completely. Let the kids help frost and decorate.
