Fried Food at the State Fair of Texas

corn dogs Oprah.com's got a heart attack-inducing round-up of the fried food finalists in the Big Tex Choice Awards at this year's State Fair of Texas.

Corny dogs and funnel cakes are expected, of course, but Fried Butter and Fried Coke? Unprecedented! Then again is there anything that can't be fried?

Here are some of the fried foods served at the 2009 State Fair of Texas:

Corny dog
Fried butter
Fried peanut butter, jelly, and banana
Deep-fried peaches and cream
Fried grilled cheese
Chicken-fried bacon
Fried Coke (actually Coca-Cola-flavored batter that is deep-fried, covered in pure Coca-Cola fountain syrup, and topped with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry)
Fried guacamole

Which of these fried foods sound the best? The worst? (I'm utterly intrigued yet disgusted by the fried guacamole.)

YUCK... apparently Oprah tried the fried butter when she was there. I've had a deep fried twinkie and deep fried Oreos in Vegas... they amde me sick but they were good! LOL
