Hot Mormon Muffins: A Taste of Motherhood is a new calendar featuring 12 Mormon moms in sexy, vintage pinup poses and slightly revealing outfits. Oh, and each month includes a different muffin recipe (I'm actually referring to the baked good)...
The creator of the calendar is Chad Hardy (who also did a three-year series of calendars called, "Men on a Mission," which featured 12 shirtless Mormon male church missionaries). He explained that he created the Hot Mormon Muffin calender to combat stereotypes of Mormon mothers as "stuffy or hyper-conservative and mothers in particular as homemakers from another era."
The women featured in the calendar include stay-at-home moms, students, real estate agents, cosmetologists, and dance instructors. One is a former Miss Utah and another is a breast cancer survivor. They think the calendar is funny, although they admit that it isn't in keeping with the message of modesty promoted by their church.
But not everyone finds the project to be so humorous. In fact, Hardy has since lost his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as his diploma from the church-owned Brigham Young University.
It should be noted that, according to the official Web site, profits from sales of the calendar will benefit breast cancer research.
What do you think of the Hot Mormon Muffins calendar? Hilarious and a good way to raise money for a good cause? Or offensive?

Hilarious. :)
Hilarious... as a Utah citizen who is NOT LDS, anything that pokes some fun at the stereotypes and religion is funny to me.. not because I want to see them embarrassed, but because I think people take it way too seriously.
Hilarious, along the lines of the elderly women who in the UK I believe that do the practically nude calendar.
Anything that gives ammunition to make fun of Mormons is not funny to me. A lot of people just love to do that and don't care who it hurts.
Then take down your witch background on your profile, Jambo. As a Pagan, it's offensive.
(Yes, that's sarcasm, intended to point out that you can present religiously-aimed things without it hurting people unless they're looking to be hurt.)
The women in those pictures are either not Mormon or not very much involved in the church. Good Mormon wives go through the temple and once they do, they have to wear their temple garments at all times and they would most definitely show up in the background of those tight, slutty clothes. They would be an insult to their husbands and to their church.
My personal feeling? I think it's hilarious. The "Men On A Mission" are pretty hawt too. Woo woo!
offensive, definitely against the the Mormon modesty standards.
its just bizarre to me b/c it goes against what i think of Mormons. they are acting like its bad to be modest and conservative since they feel the need to combat the sterostypes of Morman mothers. if they did something similar with Catholics, since i am one, i wouldn't find it funny.
I don't think they are trying to poke fun at the Mormon church but the stereotypes society labels the Mormon church with. http://www.newsy.com/videos/calendar_puts_mormons_in_hot_water
I find it very offensive and I am not even an active member anymore. This goes against the standards taught in the church.
