one-pot lasagnaDid you know you can cook a whole lasagna all in one pot—and on the stove-top nonetheless? According to 5BabyBees, you most certainly can. In honor of One-Pot Wednesday, she shares her family's favorite recipe for Stove-Top Skillet Lasagna.

Skillet Lasagna (originally posted in the Cooking 101 group)

1/2 lb ground beef or turkey

1/2 lb ground spicy Italian sausage (or use 1 lb of either beef, turkey or sausage)

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup green bell pepper, chopped (optional)

3 cups broken lasagna noodles, uncooked

2 1/2 cups water

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 (26 oz) jar tomato sauce or marinara sauce

2 cups cottage or ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella or Italian blend cheese, use more or less to your liking

Cook the meat, green pepper (if using), onion and garlic over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until meat is brown. Drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients except for the cottage or ricotta cheese and shredded cheese, and heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat. Simmer until pasta is done (about 20 minutes). Stir in the cottage or ricotta cheese. Spread shredded cheese over the top and cover until melted.
