If you ask around, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is the hands down favorite for boxed mac and cheese. A bunch of moms in the Stay at Home Moms group say their kids won't eat anything else. They refuse to eat the generic or store brand -- they can tell the difference.
I've had it, of course. Creamy, cheesy, good, comforting, yum. But our family has a new favorite that ... dare I even say it ... is Back to Nature Macaroni and Cheese Dinner.
Let me try to describe why we like Back to Nature better. Maybe it's because it's similar to Kraft, but a tad less creamy and heavy. So we don't feel like stuffed turkeys. Maybe it's because the cheese is a paler orange than the other brands -- my kids prefer white cheddar cheese.
And I love that the classic mac and cheese dinner doesn't have artificial colors or preservatives. You can also buy version with whole wheat shells and organic ingredients.
Now I only wish I could reheat the pasta with the same creaminess as fresh from the stove top. Why do the leftovers have to revert back to their chalky, powdery state?
Will your kids eat anything besides Kraft Macaroni and Cheese? What's your family's boxed favorite? Will your kids eat reheated mac and cheese?
