Non-Alcoholic Punch For a Crowd

I went to a baby shower this weekend, and the hosts had it outside on the patio. What a great day: The weather was so warm and beautiful; the cake was so moist and yummy; and this non-alcoholic citrus punch was so refreshing...I just had to get the recipe!

Turns out, the recipe is from none other than The Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book. Seriously, there's nothing like a classic recipe to please a crowd. And speaking of crowds, there's enough here to quench the thirst of a large one. I'd half the recipe unless you're entertaining 60 people...

Quantity Fruit Punch

8 cups water

1 12-oz can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed

1 12-oz can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed

2 cups sugar

1/4 cup lime juice

Ice cubes

2 46-oz cans unsweetened pineapple juice

2 2-liter bottles ginger ale

2 1-liter bottle carbonated water

Fresh strawberries, thinly sliced (optional)

Oranges, thinly sliced (optional)

Combine water, orange juice concentrate, and lemonade concentrate; stir to dissolve. Stir in sugar and lime juice until sugar is dissolved. Cover and chill for 4 hours.

To serve, pour half of juice mixture over ice in large pitcher or punch bowl. Pour in 1 can pineapple juice, 1 bottle ginger ale, and 1 bottle of carbonated water; stir to combine. Garnish with fruit. Repeat with remaining liquids when necessary.
