Best Foods for Morning Sickness?

CandiH posted a question in the Recipe Swap! group that I'm sure many pregnant women will find helpful:

What meals will help to stave off morning sickness?

Generally, avoiding fried foods, high-fat foods, and foods with strong aromas may help to reduce the nausea for some women. CandiH also said greasy food, cheese, pork, and beef didn't sound at all good to her. With this in mind, here are some great meal suggestions from CafeMoms:

  • Medicmomof2 suggested chicken salad made with grapes and nuts and baked cod.
  • According to wiener, anything with potatoes helped a lot—for example, mashed potatoes, hash browns, tater tot casserole.
  • Momoftwohearts, also speaking from experience, suggested a bunch of non-greasy meals: grilled chicken and veggies over pasta, baked potatoes and salad, rice sauteed with mushrooms and peas, and baked tilapia with lemon pepper and olive oil.
  • AngelaSue1979 said an English Muffin with an egg on top, and rice and beans.

Other foods said to either help prevent or soothe morning sickness include: crackers, dry toast, pretzels, herbal teas, lemon, and ginger.

Thanks, ladies for the great suggestions! Do you have any more ideas?
