Who are we cooking with today? CarlyQ, of course! This SAHM of two (with one on the way!) sells her crocheted items on Etsy and has a blog, Hooks and Knives.

CM: Tell me about your family. How many kids do you have and what are their ages?

My daughter, Evelyn Mary (Evie), is 4 1/2 years old. My son, Samuel Gideon (Sammy), is 22 months. I also have our third and last on the way, due in August.

What are Evie's and Sammy's favorite things to eat for breakfast?

They both love sausage and toast. Evie likes scrambled eggs, and Sammy likes pancakes.

What are their favorite things to eat for lunch?

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and apple juice. I also sometimes let Evie make Peanut Butter Toast Faces. I spread a piece of toast with peanut butter and give her things on the side to use to turn it into a face, like cheerios, mini marshmallows, raisins, and apple slices. I used to make them when I was a kid!

What is your kids' favorite thing to eat for dinner?

Spaghetti and meatballs, by a long shot. They also like hot dogs, mac n' cheese, chicken nuggets, and fish sticks. Evie loves her veggies, even broccoli.

What is one thing you can make better than everyone else?

I make an incredible pot roast that cooks all afternoon in red wine, orange juice, soy sauce, and rosemary. I make a gravy from the sauce and serve it with roasted potatoes.

If you could eat one food every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Crab legs.

What is the last birthday party you had for one of your kids and what was the theme?

For Evie's fourth birthday we had a Dora-themed party. We ordered a Dora cake, had matching decorations, and then we served both kid and adult-friendly snacks, including slow-cooker sweet and sour meatballs, chips, warm sausage and cheese dip, and put out bowls of candy.

How did you learn how to cook?

From my mom, and then to that I have added all of the things I have learned from being addicted to Food Network.
