Let's be real with each other here: Father's Day gifts tend to be pretty stale. A tie with golf clubs on it! A "World's Best Dad" mug! And the truth is, of course, yes, it's the thought that counts. But are these gifts especially thoughtful? Instead of getting him gifts he's going to have to appreciate purely for the thought alone, why not get dad something he will deeply, profoundly enjoy?

Thoughtful, cool, personal gifts don't have to be expensive, either -- we rounded up 20 of the coolest Father's Day gifts we've ever seen, for dads of all sorts -- from the grill masters to the board game enthusiasts, beer lovers to dads who just can't ever stop telling absolutely groan-worthy dad jokes, and all of them are under $25 a pop. After all, dads have big hearts when it comes to their kids and deserve a little appreciation for it (preferably in the form of something he's going to really, really want).

For anyone trying to remember just how sweet dads can be with their kids, just take a look at images of dads meeting their babies and be swayed by the inherent aww in each photo. For anyone whose heart isn't absolutely bursting after looking at these, see what celeb dads have said ... some could make good inspiration for the inside of a Father's Day card, too. Or you could look to other inspiring quotes about fatherhood, which are so honest and genuine -- and would look especially great scrawled into a handmade card.

Check out the list for inspo on a gift to let dad know he deserves better than that same old tie or a pair of socks.

Psst: If purchasing an item on this list, CafeMom may receive a small cut. Each item and price is up to date at the time of publication; however, an item may be sold out or the price may be different at a later date.
