These Are the Top 20 US Cities for Trick-or-Treating

Top towns for trick or treatingWhen it comes to Halloween, everyone knows that costumes take top priority. But once that's settled, kids start setting the best routes for trick-or-treating. In other words: How they can cover the most ground, collect the largest amount of candy, and do it within the least amount of time?


If your little ghosts and goblins are looking to fill their plastic pumpkins without walking their legs off or ending up in a dicey neighborhood in pursuit of more sugar, read on! 

Zillow has ranked the 20 best US cities for trick-or-treating, by taking into account home values as well as their proximity to one another. Other criteria included crime rates and what percentage of the population is under 10 years old.

With those factors in mind, see if your city made the list!

20. Washington, DC: We wonder if the White House gives out full-size bars? Top areas for first-rate treats include American University Park, Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Kalorama, and Georgetown.

19. Nashville, Tennessee: This country music hotspot offers good trick-or-treating, specifically in Green Hills, Tulip Grove, Cherokee Park, Sylvan Heights, and Historic Old Hickory Village.

18. Chicago, Illinois: The Windy City is great place to spend this holiday, particularly if you're in West DePaul, Ravenswood Manor, Roscoe Village, Sauganash, and North Mayfair.

12. Baltimore, Maryland: This city where Edgar Allan Poe, known for his macabre tales, is buried has great candy hunting in Patterson Park, Upper Fells Point, Canton, Brewers Hill, and Riverside. 

11. Las Vegas, Nevada: Considered an adult playground, Sin City boasts great trick-or-treating in Tule Springs, Sun City Summerlin, The Lakes, Desert Shores, and Pioneer Park. Maybe we should call it "Sugar City" from now on.
