Spooky Cakes for Halloween

We all know how talented all of the moms are on here, but this one, ahem, really takes the cake. DrJRByrne made this amazing cake for a Halloween charity auction. (To see more of her fabulous work, go here.)

But I did find a cute pumpkin chocolate cake recipe over at Quick and Simple that's sure to be a hit at any Halloween party. It looks complicated but is actually super easy to make. Even the most amateur of bakers can fool people into thinking they're a pro. Think you're up for it?

I made that pumking cake for my sons class about 8 years ago. Is so easy two bunt cakes on top of each other the icream cone I had a green one cut leaf from paper and frost with orange frosting my son cut paper nose,eyes and teeth to look like a jack-o-lantern. Wow the memories.
