8 Thoughts Every Mom Has at Breakfast

By Leah Maxwell

Getting a household full of people up and out the door in the morning can be a whirlwind of activity and chaos, and even if you’re able to snag a moment to sit down for breakfast, your brain is no doubt still swirling with hundreds of thoughts about the day ahead. Mixed in with the practical matters and typical parenting worries (where did I put that permission slip? will my kid wear his jacket at recess?), I hope you also take some time to dwell on some of the sillier things too. Here are eight thoughts you might find yourself pondering as you gather at the table for breakfast:

1. What hilarious, adorable thing will my kid say today that I’ll want to record and remember forever?

2. What embarrassing, horrible thing will my kid say today that I’ll want to forget ever happened?

3. Does a breakfast make difference? In fact, yes, it does! Serve up Jimmy Dean’s Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick – with 6 grams of protein per serving - to help keep your kids’ tummies from rumbling before lunch.

4. Will this be the day that I win the lottery and can finally custom-order the robot butler of my dreams?

5. How many days until Mother’s Day and the kids can serve me breakfast?

6. Will my always-hungry child make it to lunch without a snack or will the teacher catch him nibbling on his shoe leather again?

7. Breakfast cleanup would be so much quicker if there were such a thing as single-use disposable kitchens. (Although at least Jimmy Dean’s Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick don’t require any plates or utensils to eat!)

8. Can I go back to bed?

What thoughts fill your head at the breakfast table?
