Recently over at Recipe Swap, members weighed in on the ingredient they use most in their cooking. The overwhelming answer? Garlic! Apparently, moms just can't get enough of the stinking rose.
Can't say I disagree with all of you as garlic is always something I make sure I have on hand. It's not only a health and immunity booster, it's also delicious and so flavorful that just a little bit goes a long, long way. I put it in everything from pasta and soups to pizza and veggie side dishes.
Simply Recipes has a fantastically simple recipe for roasting whole cloves of garlic. Just chop off the top of a head of fresh garlic, drizzle with a bit of olive oil, cover with foil, and bake in the over for 30-35 minutes at 400F. You can eat the cloves whole, spread over toasted bread, or mash up and add to recipes for a rich, roasted flavor. Just make sure your sweetie likes garlic as much as you do or they'll be in for a smelly surprise when they go in for smooch.
