10 Signs the Pumpkin-ization of Fall Has Gone Too Far (PHOTOS)

Every year, we look forward to certain seasonal staples that mark the end of hot, swampy summer and herald the arrival of fall: apple picking, sweater weather, fistfuls of candy corn, and -- we’re not ashamed to admit it -- the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Its hints of cinnamon, ginger, and autumn’s greatest gourd combine in a frothy, syrupy sweet pick-me-up reserved only for crisp, cool days. 

The drink has gained in popularity over the years, inspiring a flavor fad with pumpkin-spice products popping up in abundance. While some of those things make sense in pumpkin form -- pancakes, cookies, ice cream (don’t knock it until you’ve had one spoonful of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Ice Cream, made with almost 30 percent pumpkin puree) -- some are downright puzzling.
