Chrissy Teigen's Latest Crazy Food Pic Makes Us Wish Every Meal Came in Cake Form (PHOTO)

Over the weekend I saw something on Instagram that I haven't been able to get out of my head since: Chrissy Teigen's cornbread, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese cake. Drizzled with gravy. With fried chicken on top. Do you want to see it? Of course you do.

I just hope I'm not catching you right in a moment of hunger or anything because ye gods, this thing is so for dinner. Chrissy didn't actually make it herself. She's an accomplished cook, as we all know. But it was sent to her by L.A. bakeshop Bree's Cakes

The backstory on this concoction is that pastry chef Bree Miller created "The Soul Cake" on a dare. She told Cosmo that a friend of hers "texted me a photo of a dish that was more like a casserole and asked if I thought I could recreate something like it with my own twist. I was like, 'Heck yeah. Challenge accepted.'"

Miller used mashed potatoes like buttercream frosting and oh by the way, I forgot to mention the candied yams between those three layers or cornbread. That's in addition to the mac and cheese.

As for why she sent Chrissy Teigen one -- publicity, I guess? Geez, did Chrissy ever suspect her modeling career would bring free Soul Cake into her life? How much of that thing do you suppose she let herself eat, by the way? I'm not a model (and therefore have no financial incentive to stay thin) but even I would have a hard time eating more than a thin wedge of Soul Cake.

It sure looks heavenly, though. I'm kind of thinking if I lived in Los Angeles I'd be tempted to order one of these for Thanksgiving dinner this year.
