It turns out the happiest place on earth also boasts a slew of happy hours. Actually, Walt Disney World is teeming with bars and cocktail lounges where the drinks flow at all hours of the day. 

 

Whether you’re looking for a pick-me-up at noon while the kids swim in the hotel pool or a nightcap at the end of an exciting but exhausting day, check out this sampling of the top bars at Disney.

  • Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto

    Named after the legendary "head" salesman who offers you two of his heads for one of yours at the conclusion of the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom, this new tiki bar inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is the perfect perch from which to watch the fireworks over Cinderella Castle. Sip a Polynesian Pearl made with crème liqueur and enjoy this lounge's  "no kids after 8 p.m." rule. 

  • La Cava de Tequila

    Tiny and tucked away inside the Mexico pavilion at Epcot, the 30-seat La Cava de Tequila is a romantic spot for sampling margaritas featuring a variety of tequilas. The experience serves as an education, too, as bartenders are happy to school you in the heritage and tradition of tequila, in addition to prepping the tasty concoctions for you.

  • Dawa Bar

    Made of bamboo and adjacent to Tusker House Restaurant in the Harambe Village inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Dawa serves South African wines and African beers, including one very popular Tusker Lager. For specialty cocktails, the rum-punch combo known as the Lost on Safari is a standout. Just write down where you’re going next in case you, um, forget. 

  • Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant

    Check out not one, not two, but four antique bars, each more than 130 years old and imported from Ireland, at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. The rich woods and unique craftsmanship are the perfect complements to the creamy and delicious Irish whiskies that are the real stars here. Traditional and contemporary Irish tunes, storytelling, and dance create a spirited ambiance that goes perfectly with the drinks and gastropub fare.

Try the Blue "Glow-tini," a mix of vodka, peach Schnapps, clue Curacao, and pineapple with a sugared rim and a souvenir ice cube that literally glows in the dark. 

  • Mizner’s Lounge

  • Muddy River

    If you find yourself surrounded by squealing kids at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, give yourself a timeout with a visit to this fun poolside spot serving frozen drinks and super-fruit sangria. Try a Banana Cabana made with coconut rum or a Mango Margarita on the rocks amidst the wooded setting on the resort's Ol' Man Island. You'll be refreshed and ready for another round with the kids in no time.
