Ice Cream Maker Recalls ALL Products Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

ice cream recallIce cream is a delicious way to celebrate the arrival of spring but before you start making your own sundaes, read this! Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams has issued a voluntary recall of all its products due to a possible listeria contamination. Here's what you need to know.


The Ohio-based frozen treat purveyor's recall includes ice cream, frozen yogurts, sorbets, and ice cream sandwiches of all flavors. The company has also stopped all sales and is closing all of its scoop shops until its entire line of products is deemed 100 percent safe.

Currently, no illnesses have been reported but while listeria can cause minor ailments such as headache, fever, nausea, and diarrhea in a healthy person, it is much more dangerous for those with weakened immune systems, like children and the elderly.

If you think you may have this brand ice cream in the house, check your freezer and either dispose of it or consult your supermarket for a refund. If you've eaten it and experience any of the symptoms listed above, consult your doctor right away.
