Gingerbread house cookies from Betty Crocker
Constructing an entire gingerbread house might be too intense of a project this far along in the holiday season. But these easy gingerbread house cookies from Betty Crocker are the next best thing. (I've also heard you can use graham crackers in place of cookies.) Your kids can still get in on the decorating fun, but you don't have to deal with the stressful assembly.
Gingerbread House Cookies from Betty Crocker
1 pouch Better Crocker gingerbread cookie mix OR favorite gingerbread recipe
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 tablespoon water
1 egg
Frosting
Assorted candies for decorating
Stir mix, butter, water, and egg until dough forms (or make favorite gingerbread recipe). Roll out dough. Cut rectangles (base of house) and triangles (roof) with cookie cutters. Place 1 trangle on top of each rectangle and press to seal. Bake for 8-11 minutes at 375. Cool completely. Decorate.
