Huge Kraft Mac & Cheese Recall Could Change Dinner Plans in a Hurry

Well, this was not good news to get around dinnertime! Kraft has recalled 6.5 million boxes of the original flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner. As bad as this is for everyone who was in the middle of whipping up everyone's fave mid-week go-to, it's not nearly as disastrous as it could have been if you actually took a bite into what was supposedly in some of the boxes. Because holy crap!

"Possible" metal pieces! The pieces were found in eight boxes, but nobody was injured, thank goodness. The recalled 7.25 ounce boxes were sold in in singles, and also 3-packs, 4-packs and 5-packs throughout the U.S., South America, Puerto Rico and Caribbean -- but not Canada.

Kraft provided a handy graphic of where to look on your box to see if yours is one of the recalled ones. Check it out:

This goes without saying but ... if your boxes match the above DO NOT MAKE OR EAT THIS! You should contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-816-9432 for a full refund. Or, bring it right back to the store to get a refund or exchange -- you should be safe getting the same thing as long as the codes and affected codes dates are different.

But maybe don't do it tonight. If anything's going to ruin your appetite for boxed mac it's thinking about small metal pieces. Maybe try homemade tonight instead? This homemade mac and cheese recipe takes just 5 minutes!

Did you have these boxes in your pantry?
