After surviving the long and dark winter, Easter -- and all the holiday's fabulous dessert options -- sort of feels like our reward, doesn't it? Whether we're hosting the special occasion or visiting friends and family, we can never go wrong with a delicious and colorful dessert that'll have the kids putting down their baskets to sneak a peek at our homemade confections. With their sweet pastel colors and pretty flower decorations, it's impossible not to smile at an Easter-inspired dessert.

Sure, chocolate bunnies and Peeps are yummy treats made especially for Easter, but they are only the tip of the sweet tooth iceberg. There are so many other Easter-approved homemade desserts that are bound to steal the show!

Why should the decorating just end at the eggs?

Other than the ultra adorable imagery that comes with Easter (what other holiday celebrates baby chicks?!), we can really get creative with flavors, colors, and textures as we mimic green grass, blossoming flowers, and cute bunny faces. Christmas or Valentine's Day treats ain't got nothing on Easter desserts.

Anyway, read ahead for 20 stunning and sweet Easter desserts! Our brunch guests won't know what hit them in the tastebuds and the eyes. (These Easter-approved desserts are so egg-cellent that they can really get us in the mood for spring. Is anyone else ready to shed some winter layers?)
