Families celebrate St. Patrick's Day in all kinds of ways. Most of us wear green -- and enjoy a fun Irish-inspired dinner. This year, make the meal easy with this super-simple St. Patrick's Day menu. After all, it's a very lucky family who gets to dig into this Crock-Pot Irish beef stew and finish up with a slice of grasshopper pie.

Celebrating St. Patrick's day with friends and family doesn't have to be complicated or a ton of work. That's why we've put together a super-simple St. Pat's menu with some traditional Irish and green-hued recipe inspiration. There's an appetizer, a vegetable, a main course (a la Crock-Pot!), a fun beverage, and because we couldn't stop at just one, there are two sensational looking desserts. Make it even simpler by asking guests to bring the appetizer and dessert.

A springy twist on plain buttered peas is to add a few sprigs of mint. After cooking your peas (fresh or frozen), stir in butter and salt. Then roll a few fresh leaves of mint together and snip little ribbons with kitchen scissors directly over your peas. Stir well and serve.

  • Irish Beef Stew

Take the chill off a blustery March day with this slow cooker Irish beef stew! You'll want to start it in the morning since it cooks for 12 hours total. If you're short on time, skip that first step of browning the beef. And if you don't want to use stout, simply substitute with extra beef broth.

There is nothing Irish about this drink, but kids love it and it's green. Here's a recipe for your classic shamrock lime sherbet punch. But if that's too sugary for your dinner, you could just mix up a pitcher of limeade. Or do what my mom always did -- put green food coloring in your kids' milk and call it a day!

  • Grasshopper Pie
