Warm, Cheesy Pizza Goodness in Minutes

cheesy pizza dip and breadsticks

Let's face it; what makes us crave pizza isn’t the toppings or the crust. It's that delicious interplay between warm, tangy sauce and creamy, melted cheese. That's what you get in this dip; plus, you can use an oven bag to eliminate cleanup hassles, which is great when you just absolutely have to have pizza NOW but don’t want to deal with the mess of making it yourself.

You can serve this with the parmesan breadsticks recipe included below, but if you're avoiding carbs or entertaining people who avoid gluten, pepper strips or zucchini slices would make yummy dippers as well. This would be a great hot dip to bring to a party or office potluck as well, since you can bring everything already mixed in the bag, carried in the dish you'll use to serve. Just heat it up when you get there and you have a no-hassle appetizer.

Cheesy Pizza Dip

Dump all the things you love about pizza into an oven bag and pop into the microwave for a saucy, cheesy dip that pairs perfectly with hot-out-of-the-oven breadsticks -- plus, the oven bag means virtually no cleanup time!

Prep: 10 minutes

Microwave: 5 to 7 minutes

Bake: 12 to 15 minutes at 350°F

  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 jar (24 oz.) marinara sauce
  • 1 bag (8 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons finely shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 recipe Parmesan Breadsticks (below)

  1. ADD flour to a Reynolds® Large Oven Bag. Shake. Place bag in 2-quart casserole dish at least 2 inches deep.
  2. PLACE marinara sauce, 4 oz. mozzarella cheese, parsley, and garlic in bag*. Close bag with tie (found inside package) 4 inches from top. Use hands to gently mix ingredients in bag. Cut six 1/2-inch slits in top of bag to allow steam to escape. Tuck ends of bag in dish.
  3. PLACE pan in microwave, allowing room for bag to expand during cooking. Bag should not hang over pan.

  1. MICROWAVE 5 to 7 minutes on high or until marinara is warmed through.
  2. CUT open top of oven bag carefully. Remember: Always support bag with dish.
  3. SPRINKLE hot dip with remaining 4 oz. mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Serve with Parmesan Breadsticks.

Parmesan Breadsticks

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with Reynolds® Parchment Paper. On a lightly floured surface, roll 1 package (13.8 oz.) refrigerated pizza dough into a 10x8-inch rectangle. Brush dough with 1 tablespoon olive oil and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons finely shredded Parmesan cheese, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Fold the dough in half to make a 5x8-inch rectangle; press lightly to seal the edges. Fold dough in half again to make a 5x4-inch rectangle. Cut into ten 4x1/2-inch strips. Twist each strip two or three times. Place 1 inch apart on prepared baking sheet. Bake 14 to 18 minutes until the breadsticks are golden brown. Let cool on a wire rack.
