There's absolutely no better way to celebrate America this July 4th (or any occasion, for that matter) than with delectable desserts. Sure, we all love the chance to spend time with family and friends, but what's a good holiday without some sweet treats, right?

Check out our roundup of tasty red, white, and blue desserts, perfect for your celebration on Monday, July 4th. With everything from jello stars and cupcakes to cake pops and cookies, there's surly something to satisfy the sweet tooth of everyone this holiday weekend:

Red, White & Blue Stained Glass Jello Stars, (above photo) adapted from Brown Eyed Baker:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boxes of Jello in different colors
  • 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
  • 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • Water

Directions: 1. For each flavor of Jello, dissolve one box in 1 cup of boiling water. Pour the mixture into a square container, measuring roughly 6 to 8 inches, and chill for at least 3 hours. If you have time, overnight is best.

2. After the Jello blocks have chilled, cut them into smaller blocks. Then, mix the blocks in a 9 x 13 inch pan.

3. In a separate bowl, pour 1/2 cup cold water into the contents of 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin. After the gelatin blooms, add 1 1/2 cups boiling water and dissolve. Then, add the can of condensed milk, stir the contents, and let cool.

4. Poor your unflavored gelatin mixture over the colored jello blocks in your 9 x 13 inch pan. It's important to skim off any bubbles that form, to avoid air pockets. Then, chill until firm, at least three hours.

5. Cut the jello into fun shapes, and enjoy!
