Chicken Nuggets Recalled: What You Need to Know

chicken nuggetsIf your family is anything like mine, you eat a lot of chicken nuggets. Particularly my son because my daughter is somewhat of a vegetarian with the only meat she eats being bacon. Learning about a chicken nugget recall is scary especially since the reason it's being recalled is that plastic has been found inside the chicken and some people have gotten cuts inside their mouths.

It's all been traced back to a part inside a blending machine at the Tyson production plant. Here are all the details you need to know regarding this chicken nugget recall.

  • Tyson is recalling 75,320 pounds of chicken nuggets after small pieces of plastic was found in customer's food.
  • The recall includes Tyson 5-pound bags of frozen, white meat chicken nuggets that were sold at Sam's Club stores across the country.
  • The chicken nuggets affected are "Tyson Fully Cooked White Meat Chicken Nuggets" and were produced on two days, January 26 and February 16, on a single line at one of the company's 40 chicken production facilities.
  • The recall also includes 20-pound bulk packs of nugget-shaped breast patties -- Spare Time Fully Cooked Nugget-Shaped Chicken Breast Pattie Fritters w/Rib Meat -- that were shipped for institutional use in Indiana and Arkansas. Those bulk packs have identifying case codes of "0264SDL0315 through 19" and "0474SDL0311 through 14."
