The last thing you want to do is walk through your door and have to prepare dinner for four. Slow cooker meals, like this amazing chicken and dumplings recipe, can be prepared well in advance and are ready to feed your family when you're ready to eat. This recipe takes just 10 minutes of prep time, cooks in 6 hours, and feeds 8 hungry folks. Perfection in one pot!

The pickiest of eaters in your tribe will flip over this chicken and dumplings dish because it's so simple and buttery -- and contains amazingly yummy biscuits! If you don't already have everything you need to make this in your pantry and fridge, it'll take one quick trip to the grocery store and very little money to stock up on the 5 (yep, just 5!) ingredients that go into this slow-cooker dish.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Ingredients:

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

2 tablespoons butter

1 (10.75-ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup

1 onion, finely diced

1 (10-ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into pieces

Instructions:

Place the chicken, butter, soup, and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with enough water to cover.

Cover and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About 30 minutes before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.
