Homemade treats gifted in festive boxes, vintage tins, or pretty jars are a delicious idea for those hard-to-shop-for people on your list. Check out Cooking Cafe for spice infusions, baked goods, sugar scrubs, and holiday drink mixes including yummy-sounding Mexican hot chocolate...

Do you make homemade gifts?

Homemade Gift: Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix

1/3 cup light brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon powdered vanilla
1/4 cup cocoa
2 1/2 cups powdered milk

Combine and blend ingredients in a small bowl. Gift in a glass jar tied with a festive ribbon. Attach the following message to the jar hand-written on a pretty card:

Mexican Hot Chocolate
Serves 6

You will need:

3 cups water
Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix (to taste)
Cinnamon sticks for garnish

Heat the water to boiling and add the Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix. Stir with a whisk until the mixture is smooth. Garnish with cinnamon sticks. For a frothier hot chocolate, mix in a blender. Happy Holidays!

Sounds like a great thing to make to include in a gift basket for someone!  Martha Stewarts page has a lot of great ideas for making lip gloss, bath fizzes and other things.  I am also going to check this out.  I have been trying ot make some home made gifts for people this year.  Thanks for the idea!
