Time Magazine reports that the top food trend of 2008 is "Recession Dining." This refers to bargains, gimmicks, and specials restaurants have been offering customers recently in order to get them to dine in during the tough economic times. Deals include all-you-can-eat buffets, budget-conscious menu items, half-price wine, etc.
Have you seen any of these recession deals at your local restaurants?

Applebees has that "two for 20" deal where you get an appetizer and two entrees (you have to pick from a list) for $20, which is a pretty good deal for Applebees.
Kids 4 under free at Ryans, 12 under 3.99 for the buffet - used to be everyone 8.00 plus at Ryans a few towns over by my mom's- so we (fam of 5) go there occasionally for just at or under $30- take our time and fill them up but for the most part I recreate almost anything we get at the restaurants at this point- pain in the butt but huge savings in the pocket
