Zombie Eyeball Rice Krispie Treat Recipe Is So Easy to Make It's Scary

Yum! 7

eyeballI have a love-hate relationship with "creepy" Halloween treats. On one hand, they're kind of revolting, yet on the other, they're pretty damn cool. These Zombie Eyeball Rice Krispie Treats are a little more icky than I'd normally like to go on Halloween, but they're pretty much as easy as dumping a package of miniature Snickers into a giant bowl.

Also, what kid in their right mind wouldn't love to eat a zombie eyeball?

Zombie Eyeball Rice Krispie Treats

  • 1 (10 ounce) package large marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 6 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 24 chocolate kisses
  • red decorator icing

1. In microwave safe bowl, combine marshmallows and butter; melt at high for 3 minutes, stirring once during cooking time until marshmallows melt. Stir in cereal until coated and spread on buttered waxed paper. Let stand until cool enough to handle.

2. Grease hands with butter and form mixture into 24 balls. Press chocolate kiss, pointed side first, into each ball. Let stand until firm. Using decorator frosting, add 'pupil' and lines for bloodshot eyes. Let stand until frosting dries. Store tightly covered at room temperature.

Why is the picture credited to a vegan catering company when the recipe isn't even vegetarian?

The picture doesn't match the recipe - there is a glaze in the eyeballs in the picture, none in the recipe. So it's probably an accurate credit, just not an accurate picture.

Do they have white frosting? It wouldn't look like an eyeball if it was krispie treat colored

I was also wondering why receipe didn't match pic. Loks like the balls are dipped in white chocolate

....and using an m&m

Looks like melted marshmallow for the icing to me.

http://www.ghoulfriday.com/eyeball_krispie_treats Roll them in melted white chocolate, use an m&m for the pupil, and red icing for the veins. Almost as easy, but not quite...
