I love me some sangria. Fruity, boozy, refreshing wine in a glass with ice? Yes please. It’s so awesome that it should hardly be relegated to the summer months alone. With a few simple switches, you can take this treat into the flavors of fall.
Pomegranate Sangria from Pink-Parsley.com
- 1 (750-mL) bottle red wine (I used Pinot Noir)
- 2 cups Pomegranate juice
- 2/3 cup brandy
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 pears, chopped
- 1 apple, chopped
- Pomegranate seeds, for garnish
Just stir everything but the pomegranate seeds together in a large pitcher and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Overnight is better so the flavors really get a chance to mingle and fall in love. Also so more of the liquid soaks into the fruit, so you have a wine-y little fruit salad at the bottom of your glass.
To serve, pour into a wine glass or tumbler over ice, and garnish with pomegranate seeds.
