When it comes to sweet treats, there can be too much of a good thing. When that sugar is mixed with some salt, however, then all bets are off. These choocolate chip pretzel cookies are the perfect sweet and salty mix, and they're irresistible.
Pretzels add the perfect punch to already delicious cookies. It's also a great way to add crunch for a crowd who may be allergic to nuts. It's a recipe I've had for ages, and my family loves it. Try them once, and I guarantee it won't be the last time you make them.
Chocolate Chip Pretzel Cookies
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
Pinch of Salt
2 sticks Unsalted Butter
½ cup Sugar
½ cup Brown Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 Tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon Cornstarch
1 cup Chocolate Chips
1 cup Crushed Pretzels
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In another large bowl, combine butter with sugars, then add vanilla extract.
Whisk together milk with the cornstarch until the cornstarch has dissolved. Add that to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring until combined.
Add the flour mixture, and stir until well-combined. Then add chocolate chips and pretzels.
Scoop cookie dough onto prepared pans (9-12 cookies per pan) and bake for 9-10 minutes.
