6 Quick & Easy Recipes for a Merry Christmas Brunch

Yum! 1

monkey breadIf you have children, Christmas Day typically means you're up at the crack of dawn. Little ones simply can't wait to see what Santa has brought, and there's usually a flurry of ribbons and wrapping being undone, then the assembling of toys, and finding batteries, and all of the other aftermath activities. After things have settled down a little, however, people realize they're ravenous, and that's when it's time for a great Christmas Brunch.

It's one of my favorite meals of the year. It's festive but doesn't have to be frantic, and it's not nearly as involved as Christmas dinner usually is. My perfect brunch contains items that are both hearty enough to tide people over until dinnertime but also simple because I don't want to miss out on any of the fun action either. Here are six of my favorite easy and quick Christmas brunch recipes.

Overnight Egg Casserole

This simple recipe uses sausage, eggs, cheese, and a nice kick of mustard, but you can add peppers, mushrooms, or switch out the meats and cheeses to accommodate different tastes. I love it because you assemble it the night before, then just pop it in the oven in the morning.

Monkey Bread

Ooey gooey cinnamon goodness. Since you start with refrigerated biscuits, it's incredibly easy too.

Smoked Salmon Spread and Bagels

Flavorful and delicious, and you can make the spread a day ahead.

Overnight Crock-Pot French Toast

This is especially great if your oven will be otherwise occupied.

Bacon and Cheese Scones

Delicious doesn't begin to describe these perfect parcels of yum. You can make them ahead of time and then just reheat when it's time to eat too.

Edible Fruit Tree

This is adorable, delicious, and makes a great centerpiece.

Our tradition is and will always be eggs benedict for Christmas brunch...it gets a little crazy with all the steps involved, but I love doing it and it's always so worth it when I finally get to sit down and devour the deliciousness :)
