We all love getting our money's worth. No one wakes up in the morning and thinks to themselves, "Self, let's go get ripped off at Restaurant Chain X for breakfast this morning!" Nope, we want the best bang for our buck. Or at least decent burgers.
So wouldn't you like to know which food chains people think deliver the most value? Huffington Post partnered with YouGov BrandIndex to find out how Americans feel about 130 national restaurant chains. One of the questions they asked about the restaurants was, "Does it give good value for what you pay?" Here's the top 10 chains that deliver the most value for the money.
- Dairy Queen
- Olive Garden
- Outback Steakhouse
- Cracker Barrel
- A & W
- Panera Bread
By the way, Subway came out almost 20 points ahead of Wendy's. The rest are all pretty close to each other.
And there you go. I'll have to take their word for it because I never eat at any of these places, though a lot of my colleagues here love a couple of them. I think the only chain I ever visit is Chipotle -- which is nowhere on this list. Oh well. As someone who cooks with similar ingredients (meats raised without hormones, etc.), I think their prices are reasonable, but I can see why some people get sticker shock when they eat there.
Anyway, I'm glad to see a whole range of restaurants on this list. You can get pretty decent value whether you're at a fast food restaurant or a casual sit-down place. I imagine the portions at these places are generous, too. And that makes me wonder how many people consider value a quantity thing (big pile o'food) or a quality thing (taste, ingredients). Hopefully it's both.
Do you agree with this list? What restaurants do you think deliver the most value for what you pay?
