It's apple picking season and if you're like me, you end up with way more apples than you could ever hope to eat or bake with. So this year, when my family picked, I put a cap on the number of bushels we could bring home and I am determined not to let these babies go to waste. I've decided the best way to do that is to add to my apple dessert arsenal.

So while I'm known for my killer apple pie, I'm going to go out on an apple tree limb, and I've decided that apple crisp is the way to go. It's yummy -- and easy (no pie crusts to agonize over and agonize, I do). I just love me a dessert that can be a jumbled mess on purpose and still be delicious.

Here are 5 apple crisp recipes that look pretty amazing. I think I'll start with the first one and eat bake my way down.
